I started to try something new. "Encaustic" painting. I had seen it done on you tube videos and on line in some of my groups. It looked so beautifully vivid and abstract, so I thought it was right up my alley.
I am a little frugal when it comes to spending money on something new; so of course I went through my "Junk drawer" and gathered up all the crayons that the kids had dumped in there over the years. Happy with my "found" colors I proceeded to try the encaustic method. Above you see the first of my offerings.
These were taken with my cell phone, so they don't come out as beautifully vivid as they really are.
I am in an international altered post card club that sends post cards around the world every month. So these are already in the mail box on their way to their new owners.
I will next time try to take pictures before they are on their way out with my 8.0 pixel camera instead of a little cell phone camera.
Any how it was lots of fun!!!!!!

Planning the baby shower was lots of fun! I am so glad my daughter wanted a Valentines' theme, cause there were hearts and candies available at every store I went into.
Amy made all the mini cupcakes and when she called me at work and told me she made 93, I almost flipped.
We ordered a cake too, so I was wondering who all would eat these beautiful little cupcakes.
Well I shouldn't have worried at all. Because they were all gone even before we opened the presents.
The party favors were red champagne glasses filled with silver and red chocolate hearts.
The baby is due around February 24th, so now we are ready.

Well I am going to be a Grandma!!!!!!!!! Yeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa We had my daughter's shower Sunday. I am particularly proud of the way the punch bowl looked. Thanks to Lynne for making all the flavored hearts.

Holiday Havoc

Well the holidays are finally over and I am back to work full time.
I dream of someday retiring and just living on my art. Haaaaaaaaaaaa that will take many many years. That is why we are all called “Starving Artists”
Well us “Starving Artists” are a wonderful bunch of people!!!!!!!!!!!!

Presently I am working a lot with mixed media and altered art.
I started out with journal pages and now I am working on altered Cd’s for a challenge in one of my groups. ATC’S FOR EVERYONE.
Check it out if you get a chance.
Here you can see the 4 cds I altered for the challenge.
